Misery

The feeling of misery
Made to believe all these happens for a reason
Birth, growth and death, all mystery
Pray for us, oh great deacon
Sitting here, thinking, all teary
Need a focus, direction, a beacon
Laughter seems like a strange concept
Every inch devoid of hope, joy
Smile, I hold thee in contempt
Floating in the sea of hatred, anger the bout
Happiness, joy and love all loose meaning
Laughter, smile obvious in the face of enemy
To witness the downfall all they are dreaming
But this is not the destiny
That was promised: A life of greater things,
Is assured, but achieving this requires great patience.
For when the time comes
The ecstasy will last forever

The Great Fire

Consuming all in it’s path Sprinting around with energy abound Shapeless like an ameoba Burning twigs, hides, fur and skin Destroying everything it touches Licking the ground clean Insatiable, more victims it want Leaving desolation in it’s wake Making landlord homeless And the homeless hopeless Fiery body of destruction Grey, colourless and white ashes Marking it’s trail Melting iron And boiling steel The great fire consumes all And spare none. I seek refuge in the Lord From the evils of the fire.

Keys and Strings

Astonished I am By thine comely grace Lush green leaves swaying in the breeze All hang their apex in jealousy When you walk by The midday sun is it as hot As your cool beauty. Awesomeness is your birthright Omidan, Arẹwà Ọmọge míì. I don't know how to play the harp I'd have sing to you With the strings. And I can't play the piano I'd have made you blush With the keys. All I know is lines I hope my lines are strong enough To reel you in. To me, Mine and mine alone. There is love in sharing, But I can't share my love. I'm the sole proprietor here.  Ridwan Akinkunmi Àjàgbé. Abu Marwan (Sophocles)
