SNAKE POEM

slowly silently slithering on the sand
i have my heart in my mouth at the sight
beating fast against my rib cage
peaceful, crawling on ahead of me
without care
free

paused in my track
can't move no more

admiring this brown basking beauty
tracing a recurring s on the sand
i am in awe of the brown snake
emerald eyes glinting in the morning sun

scared and enthralled
i can never man up to kill one.

Full of hope joy and expectations Celebrating the arrival of my messiah It is you I have been waiting for Grinding to a halt feelings of despair Until I heard the story That saddens me Makes me feel minute Inconsequential Unwanted I am Just a little boy, immature Then I buckle my belt Through thick and thin Rain and snow, my aim is you I'll fight for my glory. #SOPHOCLES #Ayoife

Omolola

Omolola mi Because of you, I can trek from Awe all the way to Sabo From the jungles of Akinmoorin to the slums of Isale-Oyo, Even if you want, I can forsake my beloved fufu for noodles. The love I have for you is more than be careful. Although my eyes are pushing me I will bravely face any member of your clan The seed of love you planted in my heart has turned to a great tree of affection Even the giant Iroko will be dwarfed.
